A letter from Alpha Omicron Pi’s President
Hi everyone,
My name is Ally Valentine, and I have the amazing privilege of serving as President of Alpha Omicron Pi.
What stands out most to me about AOII is how intentional our sisters are about showing up for each other. It’s not surface-level. It’s walking home together after a long day and talking through everything that’s been building up, celebrating each other’s wins like they’re your own, and showing up without being asked when someone is having a hard week. It’s the kind of support that feels genuine and consistent.
I didn’t come into recruitment feeling 100% sure of where I belonged. Going through the process, I was looking for something that felt real, and AOII was the place where I felt the most like myself. That feeling has only grown since then, and it’s something I see reflected in the experience of so many others.
This chapter pushes you, but in a way that helps you grow. Whether it’s stepping into leadership roles, balancing academics, or getting involved in philanthropy, you’re surrounded by women who want to see you succeed and will encourage you to reach your full potential. At the same time, you always know you have people who will support you along the way.
A lot of what makes AOII special happens in the in-between moments. It’s the mix of academics, leadership, and philanthropy, but also the everyday things like running into familiar faces all over campus, sitting together at meals, or showing up for each other during the most stressful weeks of the semester. From sisterhood events like laser tag to our work supporting the Arthritis Foundation, there’s a strong sense of connection in everything we do.
Something I love about this chapter is that there isn’t one version of who you have to be. Everyone is involved in different things, has different priorities, and shows up in their own way, and that’s exactly what makes it work. You’re not expected to fit into a mold here, you’re just encouraged to be yourself.
I’m really proud to lead a group of women who care deeply about each other, push each other to grow, and also know how to have a lot of fun together. AOII has given me my closest friendships and most meaningful experiences in college, and it’s something I’ll always be grateful for.
With Alpha Love, Ally Valentine
