Circle of Sisterhood

Circle of Sisterhood is Elon Panhellenic’s philanthropy, focused on expanding access to education for girls and women around the world. Through fundraising and service, Panhellenic members support organizations working to remove barriers to education in more than 25 countries. Donations help provide essential resources like meals, school supplies, and uniforms, making it easier for girls to attend and stay in school.

Since its founding in 2010, Circle of Sisterhood has partnered with organizations across multiple continents, providing support through grant funding and school-building initiatives to increase educational opportunities for women globally.

A Letter from our Vice President of Community Development

Dear Potential New Members and Active Members,

My name is Elyse Schwartz, and I am the current Vice President of Community Development. I am so excited to meet all of you. Here’s a little bit about me! I love dogs, the color blue, and helping others. My position on Panhellenic is overseeing Panhellenic’s Sisterhood and Philanthropy, which means the world to me. A little background about me is that I have been immersed in community service since Elementary school, and growing up around philanthropic initiatives, I absolutely love giving back to the community. What drew me to this position is the opportunity to work with women and make a difference in education. Being able to help strengthen Elon’s sisterhood, not only within my own chapter but throughout Panhellenic, is so rewarding, and the love we all have for one another is evident. Being able to create and host events for our community is one of the best highlights of my position.

Now, to talk a little bit about the heart of all Panhellenic communities, Circle of Sisterhood! Circle of Sisterhood is Panhellenic’s national philanthropy, raising money to provide girls with access to education. “Two-thirds of all illiterate adults are women, and not even seven percent of the world’s population has a college education.” This statistic is so large and contributes to why we do what we do, and helps to raise money for these women who otherwise would never get an education. Through events and fundraising, we help make a difference. In addition to our Panhellenic philanthropy, each of our ten chapters has at least one philanthropy with which they work closely in our community. It is important when going through recruitment to pay attention to each chapter’s philanthropy to ensure they align with your personal values.

Reiterating what I said earlier, I cannot wait to meet each of you and make a difference within our Panhellenic community together!

Love, Elyse Schwartz
