A letter from Sigma Kappa’s President
Dear Potential New Members,
My name is Sydney Holmes, and I am honored to serve as President of the Sigma Kappa, Kappa Zeta chapter. What better way to give back to the organization that has given me my lifelong best friends and served as my home away from home during my time here at Elon. Leading this group of outstanding, passionate, and caring women has been the absolute highlight of my time here at Elon, and this role is one I am deeply honored to hold.
The recruitment process was one that initially came with a great deal of anxiety for me. However, as I spent time getting to know women across Sigma Kappa, I was consistently drawn to the authenticity, warmth, and sincerity of the connections I formed. As I continued on with the recruitment process and met the women who would become my sisters, I realized that Sigma Kappa offered something distinct and meaningful. I saw women with whom I could genuinely envision building lasting relationships, and I can say with confidence that I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a community in which I truly belong.
Now, I can confidently say Sigma Kappa has given me exactly what I needed and more. It has given me a place where I can be fully myself, where I am constantly surrounded by women who push me to grow, support me unconditionally, and make even the most ordinary days feel meaningful. It has provided me with leadership opportunities that have shaped the way I see myself and the world around me, and friendships that I know will last far beyond my time at Elon. When I look at the members of this chapter, I see women who have shaped my college experience in every way possible. These women have pushed me, supported me, laughed with me, and loved me into the person I am today. Sigma Kappa will meet you exactly where you are, hold your hand, and help guide you into the person you are meant to become. My greatest hope for you all, no matter your journey, is that you find the amount of love, comfort, and lifelong sisterhood that Sigma Kappa has given me. We can’t wait to meet you!
All my love, Sydney Holmes
